Learn to Skate programs designed for all ages to learn fundamental skating skills in a fun, group environment. Using certified coaches, these programs focus on balance, control, and agility, preparing participants for figure skating, hockey, or recreational skating through active, fast-paced sessions.
Starskate
Starskate (Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition) is a Skate Canada figure skating program for all ages that introduces fundamental skills in ice dance, skating skills, free skate, and artistic skating. It uses a standardized, progressive, test-based system and professional coaching for private or group lessons after passing CanSkate.
Synchronized Skating
Synchronized skating or Synchro, is a figure skating discipline where 8-20 skaters move together as one unit, performing complex, choreographic routines to music. Originating in 1956, it emphasizes speed, precision, and unison, featuring formations like circles, lines, wheels, and blocks, alongside intricate intersections and lift elements.
Sanctioned by Skate Canada, Matrix Synchronized Skating Academy has over 100 members and has been serving the Thorold & Port Colborne area for years. We offer learn-to-skate programs, figure skating, and synchronized skating. For more information, please browse through our programs.
